BLHS is a proud member of the 12th YEAR CAMPAIGN 
The Student Achievement Council administers this campaign to provide high school seniors with support for two important processes: applying to colleges and applying for financial aid.

AIR FORCE - 2nd Thursday of the month       

ARMY NATIONAL GUARD - 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month

MARINES -  2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month

NAVY -  2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month 


SELECTIVE SERVICE
Listen up! This is an important announcement for all 17 and 18 year old men. We want you to remember that when you turn 18, it is your civic responsibility to register with Selective Service. Registering with Selective Service is a federal law and those who fail to register may be denied student loans, job training, government jobs, and driver's licenses in most states. See Mrs. Helmold in the CIC for info. on how to register or if you have any questions. For more information go to www.sss.gov 

 
RESUME ASSISTANCE
Does your student need help with their resume, which is one of the Culminating Portfolio requirements?  Do they have a job interview coming up?  How about college essay writing ideas?  If so, have them sign-up in the CIC for a Wednesday morning help session.  These help sessions begin at 8:00 am and end at 8:45 am.

EARN COLLEGE CREDIT
Students can earn FREE Community/Technical College credit for classes such as:  Careers with Children, Culinary Arts, Intro. to Business and Marketing, Web Design, and many more.  Students must receive a "B" grade or better in the class in order to receive college credit.  Have your student check with their teacher or Ms. Weeks in the CIC or go to http://sers.techprepwa.org

ACT, SAT, COMPASS, & ASVAB PREP
Do you and/or your student know which tests they need to take?  Feel free to ask in the CIC for information on testing.  ASVAB IS A FREE TEST for EVERYONE, not just those interested in Military Programs!!

PARENT/SCHOOL WORK AUTHORIZATION FORM 
Do you have a job? Are you under 18? If so, your employer may give you a Parent/School Work Authorization form. These forms need to be completely filled out, including the parent signature, prior to turning in for processing. Please allow a 48 hour turn around time for these forms to be processed.  **TAKE TO MAIN OFFICE FOR MR. SNYDER TO SIGN

TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM
Do you need an official transcript sent to a college?  Do need an unofficial transcript for a scholarship application?  If so, complete a Transcript Request Form ONLINE (as of 2015).  Please allow at least 48 hours for processing and make sure all fines are cleared.
