TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
Sumner School District Technology Services will
provide and maintain sustainable technologies that support a vision
for technology where our mission ensures the essential technical
conditions exist for a learning-focused
community.
WHAT IS IMPORTANT RIGHT
NOW?
Planning and approval of our 2010-2013
Technology Plan.
Guidelines for planning- The direction set by the district Mission,
Goals, and Target plans, along with the School Improvement Plans
(SIP) serve as a foundation for the planning of our district
Technology Plan. Using
these areas of focus, set forth by various groups, the direction
was established that all students must be engaged in the use of
technology through a content area focus. It is our belief that true
technology integration creates a seamless environment where
technology is not seen as a separate entity. Additionally, the
Federal and State technology standards for staff and students,
benchmarked by the annual survey results, set our
priorities.
Soliciting feedback-
It is through a transparent and collaborative process that we
sought to engage various stakeholders in an effort to
gather the essential information that collectively shaped and
informed this plan.
Steps used in the process were: brainstorming to create the utopia
classroom for 2013; prioritizing the brainstorm list; and grouping
the items against a phased funding model. In addition to those processes we
conducted a district-wide Needs Assessment, participated in a
National Technology survey, evaluated regional technology assessments,
and referenced numerous research materials.
