ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Jacqueline Krezelak but most people call me Jackie. I
have lived in a lot of different places while growing up including Montana. I
lived in Havre and Kalispell as a child and go back to Glacier National Park
every summer because it is where I find myself the happiest along with
teaching science. I currently live in Bonney Lake, Washington,
which is a beautiful suburb of Seattle.

I have been very involved with science education since 2006 when I decided
to go to school to become a teacher. I decided to start my education at a
local community college. While at the community college I was part of the
student body and the president of the Teachers of Tomorrow Club. After
community college I transferred to Central Washington University. Central
Washington University is where I earned my Bachelor Degree in Elementary
Education K-8, with a minor in science.

I completed my student teaching in 8th grade physics which I loved more
than anything I have ever done. After completing my student teaching the
school district hired me immediately to pilot their Alternative Education
teaching position. This was a part time position working with alternative
students in grades 6-8 in all core subject areas. As much as I loved this
position I needed a full time teaching position and wanted to teach science
full time. There was one position that opened up in the district for a K-5
Science Specialist that I applied for and received.

The K-5 Science Specialist position has provided me with many
opportunities to be a science leader in my district and at the state level. I
am currently a member of the Washington State OSPI Science Assessment
Leadership Team (SALT), I am on the board of directors for the south sound
regional science fair, I am on my district leadership team, and I have created
and carried out my school science fair and science club.

During my free time outdoor activities are at the top of my list. I enjoy
hiking, mountain biking, cycling, horseback riding, and white water rafting
with family and friends. I also enjoy working in after school programs,
teaching summer camps, and volunteering in the community.

I have chased my dreams and accomplished everything I have put my mind
to. I love working with people and finding opportunities for growth and
development. I continually dive into any opportunity that allows me to grow as
a teacher, leader, and individual. Teaching has allowed me to meet incredible
people, opened doors of opportunity and shown me what my purpose in life is.
