  About Me

Welcome to my class!  Building relationships with my students and their families is a very important part of my teaching, so I'd like to share a brief description of myself.

This is my 12th year as a public school teacher.  I began my teaching career at Foster High School (Tukwila, WA) where I taught for 3 years before moving on to Sumner High School.  This will be my 9th year as a mighty Spartan!  During my teaching career I've also been a football coach and track & field coach.  I'm currently a track & field coach at Lakeridge Middle School and Sumner High School and am also a USA Track & Field Certified Official.

I began my college career at Green River Community College were I earned an Associates of Arts (A.A.) degree in Biology.  I then moved on to attend Mississippi State University for 2 years before completing my Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) degree at the University of Washington as a pre-med (GO HUSKIES!!!).  I attended graduate school at UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas) where I graduated with a Master's Degree in Education (M.Ed).

I have 5 children - Zach (10), James (8), Naomi (8), Brandon (7), and Emilie (6) who my students will hear me talk about ALL THE TIME!!!  My hobbies are golfing, reading, and all kinds of various sports and outdoor activities.
